Davis-Standard said it will highlight its dsX flex-pack 300S during the exhibition. This single-station extrusion and composite production line is a collaboration between Davis Standard's design teams in the United States, Germany, and China, and is built at the Suzhou plant to meet the requirements of the Asian flexible packaging market.
The company stated that the device is beneficial to processors because it adapts to the pricing, machine footprint, output and key technical attributes required by Asian customers. The 300S can support web widths of 650 to 1,350 mm. It is designed to handle papers, films and aluminum foils with direct gravure primer coating and co-extrusion lamination stations with a design processing speed of up to 300 meters per minute. It is said that the hallmarks of the production line include consistent end product quality, longer uptime and productivity, reduced waste and application versatility.

The company stated that it has integrated interconnectivity and functionality through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to analyze real-time KPIs and enable alarms or action reminders through the machine control system. The DS Activ-Check system is designed to monitor the key parameters of the processing line (extruder, laminator, casting section, coating machine, unwinder, winder) in order to use a configurable dashboard to provide an early stage of potential failures Informs and valuable data for process improvement.
